Manchester United Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Neymar and Anderson Talisca

Stuart NewmanApr 2, 2017

Barcelona sensation Neymar is reportedly interesting Manchester United and Premier League rivals Chelsea, and the Brazilian could be open to a move.

The forward has developed into one of the best players on the planet in recent years, and should he made available for transfer this summer, he'll be the hottest property on the market.

Despite his apparent happiness at life in La Liga alongside Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi in Barca's dynamic front three, the Sunday Times (h/t Louis Sealey of Metro) reported that he's mulling over making a switch to Old Trafford or Stamford Bridge.

United are no strangers to splashing big money on players, having parted with a world-record £89 million to secure the services of Paul Pogba last summer.

Signing Neymar would undoubtedly see that record crushed—and likely by some distance—and the man himself may not need as much persuading as most to pack his bags for Manchester.

In March, the 25-year-old told Sarah Boyall of The Sun that he's a big fan of the Premier League and would relish working under United boss Jose Mourinho:

"

The Premier League is a championship that amazes me. I like the playing style and the teams. And who knows, someday, I would like to play at it, yes. I admire Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool—these are the teams that are always there fighting. And then you have high-level coaches like Mourinho and [Pep] Guardiola. These are coaches with whom any player would like to work. In the Premier League you never know who is going to win or who will be champions, it is always a surprise.

Sealey wrote that Neymar wants to earn a whopping £21 million per year and be the biggest fish at his next club, with the team built around him.

United have the funds to bring the Brazilian to Old Trafford and could well start a gruelling mission to sign him in the coming months.

Elsewhere, the Red Devils are reportedly plotting a £21 million move for Besiktas star Anderson Talisca.

As per Turkish outlet Hurriyet (via Liam Spence of Daily Express), Liverpool nearly landed the Brazilian last summer but lost out over work-permit issues.

Talisca, who can operate anywhere across the attacking line, is on loan in Turkey from Portuguese side Benfica and is wanted permanently by Besiktas too.

Manchester United are set for another busy summer of transfer dealings, but their success could well depend on whether they manage to earn a Champions League place for next term.

Finishing in the top four isn't out of the question, but winning the Europa League seems to be their best chance of battling it out among Europe's elite next term. United take on Anderlecht in the last eight of the competition, with the first leg kicking off on April 13.
