Mitchell Trubisky Reportedly Has Private Jets Workout Ahead of 2017 NFL Draft
With less than one month before the 2017 NFL draft, the New York Jets will reportedly hold a private workout with quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.
Per Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, Trubisky will work out for the Jets on Thursday at Chapel Hill in North Carolina.
Mehta reported in December that Jets owner Woody Johnson had the "hots" for Trubisky as his next quarterback.
Quarterback is an obvious need for the Jets, who currently have Josh McCown, Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg under contract.
McCown is the only one among that trio with extensive starting experience in the NFL. He has appeared in 82 games, with 60 starts since 2002. Petty started four games for the Jets in 2016.
Trubisky is expected to be one of the first players drafted on April 27. B/R's Matt Miller has the North Carolina standout projected to be selected by the Jets with the sixth overall pick.
