Real Madrid: Casemiro

The rise of Casemiro has been one of the top stories involving Los Blancos this season, and the Brazilian has progressed to the point he should be considered an important starter even when the team's other top midfielders are all healthy.

He's easily Real's best bruiser in the centre of the park, which should come in handy against an Alaves team that enters Week 29 in solid form. They may only rank 10th in the standings, but Alaves have won their last two matches for a reason.

Deyverson has been the team's main danger man, and manager Zinedine Zidane will likely task one of his midfielders with keeping an eye on the striker and not giving him the space to run directly at the defence.

Per Sport, Alaves' top midfielder, Marcos Llorente, can not feature against his parent club due to a clause in his loan deal. Like Casemiro, Llorente specialises in shutting down the attack, and with the youngster on the sidelines, the Brazilian should find even more space to work with.

Atletico Madrid: Nicolas Gaitan

Per EFE (for Marca), Belgium international Yannick Carrasco will be suspended for the match in Andalusia following his booking against Sevilla. That opens the door for Nicolas Gaitan to earn another start against a Malaga team that has struggled of late and is expected to defend with numbers.

Atletico have found it difficult to break down tight defences this year, and too often it has cost the team valuable points. When the Rojiblancos have space, they're at their best, but against the likes of Malaga, the team desperately need creativity out wide.

Normally, that would be Carrasco's main job, but with the former AS Monaco man sidelined, Gaitan is likely to come into the team. The 29-year-old has been something of a flop this season, but a good showing in Week 29 could aid his standing moving forward.
