Real Madrid Transfer News: Cristiano Ronaldo to Lure Kylian Mbappe, Top Rumours
Real Madrid hope to use Cristiano Ronaldo in their quest to sign Monaco starlet Kylian Mbappe, as the France international "idolised" the iconic player growing up.
According to Dani Mila of Diario Gol (h/t the Express' Jack Otway), Los Blancos will exploit the striker's feelings about Ronaldo to tempt him from the clutches of Manchester United, who also covet his signature.
However, the teenager has told Los Blancos he is currently reluctant to depart Monaco so early in his career, per Mila. The report said Mbappe has witnessed the complications that countryman Anthony Martial has experienced at United since his switch to the Premier League and wishes to avoid anything that could hamper his development.

Real are hoping to add a striker after the failure of Karim Benzema this term, with the attacker losing his consistency in front of goal, according to Mila.
Benzema recently commented about the stunning impact made by Mbappe this season and warned the youngster not to move to a bigger team just yet.
In conversation with French media podcast RMC (h/t Matt Lawless of the Mirror), the Galactico said:
"He's a young player. Football is really hard, especially at big clubs.
I arrived at Madrid at 21. I had already done a lot of things at Lyon, but when I got here I got a slap in the face.
My first year was too difficult. You're far from your family, it's not the same.
Those who are next to you are there to take your place. It's very difficult. But from what people have said, he's a very good player, and I hope he'll have a great career, little by little.

In other Real news, Madrid have threatened Isco with "a year in the stands" after being linked with a free transfer to Barcelona.
Spanish outlet Deportes Cuatro (h/t Sam Morgan of The Sun) reported the Spain international will be a free agent as his Madrid terms expire next summer, and he is yet to sign a contract extension. His deal ends on June 30, and he could then move to the Camp Nou with no transfer fee to be paid.
Real will do their best to stop one of their Spanish players leaving for their biggest rivals, and despite his lack of playing time in the capital, Isco is a quality squad member for manager Zinedine Zidane.

The capture of Mbappe would freshen up the Madrid attack, but the club usually do not buy talent unless it is proven at the highest level.
The Frenchman has much to learn, and a move to Spain could see him consigned to the bench for long spells.
Ronaldo is still the alpha male for Los Blancos' attack, and Mbappe would be wise to spend at least the next 12 months at Monaco.
