Manchester United Transfer News: Will Vint Signing Discussed Amid Latest Rumours
Manchester United look to have won the race to sign American youngster Will Vint despite his father being the academy director at Everton.
The 15-year-old dropped a big hint about his future on Instagram, it was reported on Tuesday. According to The Sun (h/t Colin Harvey of the Daily Star) the youngster changed his Instagram bio to "footballer at Manchester United," although this has since been removed.
It had recently been reported by Simon Jones of the MailOnline that United were looking to land the teenager, who was previously part of the US Soccer Development Academy with Real Colorado, and discussions have been held about a potential deal.

Vint is said to have had trials at both Everton and Fulham, although it's the Red Devils who look to have snapped up the promising youngster.

Given his father's role at Everton, perhaps that'll be a disappointment to the Toffees. Peter Vint was appointed by the Premier League side having previously been credited with playing a key role in Team USA ahead of the 2016 Olympics as the Senior Director of Competitive Analysis at the United States Olympic Committee.
According to Harvey, the young footballer is a central midfielder and shone in front of United's academy director Nicky Butt during a trial with United earlier in the month.
Kostas Manolas Rumours

Manchester United have reportedly been given a boost in their pursuit of Roma defender Kostas Manolas.
According to Fabrizio Romano of Calciomercato, the Serie A side would prefer to sell the Greek defender abroad this summer, rather than to divisional rivals Inter Milan or Juventus. The Red Devils, Chelsea and Liverpool are all noted as potential suitors for the 25-year-old defender.
The Greece international has been a revelation for Roma since joining the club in 2014 and is now regarded as one of the best defenders in Serie A. Here's why:
It takes a lot to stand out in the Italian top flight as a defender, but Manolas does. The former AEK Athens man is so sharp at the base of the Roma team, stepping in to sniff out danger and tracking opposition runs with tremendous vigilance.
Of course, a division like the Premier League would pose different types of challenges to the defender, and that's something centre-backs new to the league have struggled with in the past. But the Greek is a player who relishes the physical side of the game.

As WhoScored.com noted earlier this season, when it comes to winning aerial battles, Manolas excels:
The centre of defence is an area manager Jose Mourinho may look at in the summer, as United have had something of a rotating cast in this area of the team. Summer signing Eric Bailly is one potential building block despite some indifferent form as of late. The Red Devils could do with another.
Manolas may be it. The defender looks well capable of thriving in the Premier League, and given Roma may be willing to sell to a club overseas, United could be in a position to negotiate a decent price for his services.
