Real Madrid Transfer News: Latest on Eden Hazard, Chelsea Exit Rumours

Christopher SimpsonMar 27, 2017

Chelsea have reportedly told Eden Hazard they will "hear out" any offers from Real Madrid this summer, but owner Roman Abramovich is prepared to give manager Antonio Conte €200 million to spend in the transfer market this summer in a bid to demonstrate the club's ambition to the winger.

According to Marca's Jose Felix Diaz, Real approached the Blues last year regarding Hazard, but the Belgian stayed put, with Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia assuring him they "wouldn't reject a future advance from Madrid out of hand."

Per Sport Witness, the assurances were made as a "peace pact" after the club denied him the move.

Chelsea may have to keep their word to the player this summer as Los Blancos remain strong admirers of his, but Abramovich wants to show Hazard the club aim to be a force both domestically and in Europe in the coming years in order to convince him to remain at Stamford Bridge.

The 26-year-old has bounced back from a disappointing campaign last year in some style and has netted 11 goals in the Premier League.

While he only has four assists, he has created 54 chances, according to Squawka Football, so he's perhaps unfortunate not to have seen more opportunities converted by his team-mates:

Hazard netted February's goal of the month with a superb solo effort against Arsenal, per Carling:

He's in contention to win the gong again for March after another excellent goal, this time against West Ham United, per Chelsea:

Real Madrid boast a great deal of attacking talent as it is, but Hazard fits the bill of a "Galactico" signing perfectly, and the prospect of him lining up alongside the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale is both mouthwatering and frightening.

According to Diaz, Real duo James Rodriguez and Alvaro Morata are on the Blues' wishlist this summer.

While they may be hoping to sign marquee players such as the pair to help them keep Hazard, there's also the potential they could be used as makeweights in a deal for the Belgium international, which would simultaneously clear some space for him at the Santiago Bernabeu and soften the blow of his departure from Stamford Bridge.

Moving to Real will likely be a tempting prospect for Hazard, but Chelsea's outstanding first season and potential for growth under Conte could equally see him decide to stay, particularly if the Blues do underscore that with a statement of intent in the transfer market.
