Manchester City Transfer News: Milan Deny Gianluigi Donnarumma Sale, Top Rumours

Manchester City's proposed world-record bid for Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma could fall on deaf ears after AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi said he plans to retain the outstanding prospect.

The Sky Blues are searching for Joe Hart's long-term heir, with rumours of a £130 million offer in the pipeline for the teenager, who is destined to become one of the greatest No. 1s on the planet.

According to Italian newspaper La Verita (h/t Goal), the San Siro supremo said the 18-year-old is not for sale under any circumstances after news of manager Pep Guardiola's intended offer.

"Gigio is one of Milan's jewels," said Berlusconi. "He's a gorgeous product of our youth system, he feels strong attachment in his heart to the jersey and the Rossoneri colours. For us he's completely off the market."

The player has also moved to express his dedication to coach Vincenzo Montella's side, but he said he will leave transfer matters to his agent, according to Sky Sport Italia (h/t Joe Short of the Express).

Short highlighted the 'keeper is represented by Mino Raiola, who negotiated Paul Pogba's world-record transfer to Manchester United. The Red Devils are also said to be monitoring the young talent.

The goalkeeping prodigy has achieved 10 clean sheets in 29 Serie A appearances this term, according to Squawka.com.

Hart's exit from the Etihad Stadium is expected in the summer, and the England international has not ruled out a further 12-month stay at loan club Torino.

David Woods of the Daily Star reported Hart could be tempted to remain in Italy after a productive season in Serie A:

At 29, Hart has plenty of mileage left in the tank, and his career in Europe's top divisions is certainly not over.

However, Guardiola is looking to the future, and a player like Donnarumma fits his mandate at Eastlands.

The young Italian is destined to be Gianluigi Buffon's successor for Italy, and if he is not purchased by another side in the summer, his valuation could further explode.

Donnarumma has the potential to be one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time, and City should move aggressively to capture him.

If David De Gea leaves Old Trafford at the end of the season, per Short, City might struggle to tempt Donnarumma in a bidding war, especially with his agent's links to their Manchester neighbours.
