Liverpool Transfer News: Ivan Perisic, Leandro Paredes in Double Swoop Rumours
Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a pair of Serie A imports this summer amid speculation Inter Milan star Ivan Perisic has caught the club's attention, as has AS Roma midfielder Leandro Paredes.
Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb (h/t Liam Spence of the Daily Express) reported the Reds are hoping to recruit both players in a €60 million (£52 million) deal, with Perisic thought to account for roughly £30 million of that sum.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp already has a relationship with the Croatia international and brought Perisic to former club Borussia Dortmund in 2011, working at Signal Iduna Park before the player left for Wolfsburg two years later.

The 28-year-old has since reinvented himself at the San Siro after impressing at last year's European Championship, and OptaPaolo recently elaborated upon the winger's all-rounded pedigree:
Paredes, on the other hand, would be brought in with the intention of strengthening the Merseysiders' options in the engine room, as Liverpool have recently learned to cope without the talents of captain Jordan Henderson.
According to football writer James Nalton, the acquisition of a new tandem at the heart of his midfield would negate any need for Klopp to significantly restructure his defence at the end of this season:
Of the duo, Paredes might be looked upon as the more necessary signing considering it's difficult to see where Perisic might fit in alongside Sadio Mane, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino even if he were to arrive.
In any case, Croatia legend and former AC Milan icon Dario Simic has predicted compatriot Perisic will move to England—except he told Croatian newspaper Vecernji (h/t Goal) he expects a move to Manchester United will follow.
He said: "At Inter our guys Marcelo Brozovic and Ivan Perisic play a key role. I expected Perisic in the last transfer window to go to one of the big European clubs. He definitely has enough class for the greatest clubs – I see him at Manchester United."
Bleacher Report's Adam Digby recently put into words just how important a cog Perisic has been for Inter this season, impressing as the Italian dynasty makes its climb back up Serie A's rankings:
At a more affordable £22 million, 22-year-old anchor Paredes looks the far more likely acquisition, especially considering he's started in just 10 Serie A matches this season and isn't as crucial to Roma's cause.
Klopp's previous connection to Perisic could help the German in convincing the wide man of a move to Anfield, although he faces a fight in convincing one of Italy's strongest powers to part ways.
