Miguel Cabrera Exits vs. Indians with Back Injury
Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera left Sunday's game against the Cleveland Indians in the eighth inning with a lower back tightness, per the team.
Cabrera drove in a run on a single in the top of the eighth before exiting the game. He was 1-for-4 on the day and was replaced by Jacoby Jones as a pinch runner.
Cabrera played 158 games last season in a return to form from his injury-plagued 2015 but did deal with back issues during the World Baseball Classic. The issue was seen as minor at the time, and he was available for the Tigers' opening day.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Back problems tend to linger around, so Cabrera having to leave Sunday isn't a promising sign. He's been off to an uncharacteristically slow start, hitting .220/.347/.390 with two home runs and six runs batted in.
Victor Martinez should see some additional time at first base with Cabrera out.
