NFL Competition Committee Reportedly to Suggest Suspension for Illegal Hits

Adam WellsMar 20, 2017

The NFL competition committee is "likely to suggest" automatic suspensions on certain types of illegal hits, per Mark Maske of the Washington Post.

Maske reported the committee is also expected to bring forth a proposal for centralized replay that will allow the NFL office to make rulings in consultation with the referee.

Last year, the NFL's competition committee passed a rule in which players would be automatically ejected from a game if they received two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.

The rule has often been referred to as the Odell Beckham Jr. Rule. The New York Giants receiver was called for three personal fouls in a December 2015 game against the Carolina Panthers.
