NCAA Bracket 2017: Updated Schedule and Bold Predictions for the Round of 32
There hasn't been a trademark upset yet in this year's NCAA Tournament, but that doesn't mean there haven't been some great, tightly-contested games.
Take Vanderbilt vs. Northwestern for example. Who could have predicted that ending? No seriously, who saw that coming?
This is March Madness—we should expect the unexpected by now, but here we are, still shocked that these type of things can actually happen during a collegiate basketball game.

Northwestern knocks off Gonzaga

How can Northwestern, a team that has never been to the NCAA Tournament in the school's history, go on to knock off the No. 1 seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs?
It's simple: It's called belief.
Mentioned above, miracles do happen. Northwestern had no business converting those two free throws to beat Vanderbilt, but what's to say that Northwestern aren't a team of destiny, destined for a Sweet 16 appearance?
The Wildcats, with all due respect, will be massive underdogs against one of the most complete, fundamentally sound basketball teams in the nation. But one thing that the Wildcats have is the element of surprise and the ability to outhustle every play to make things interesting.
Northwestern earned its right to be playing into March with an impressive regular season where it compiled a record of 24-11 and ended up fifth in a competitive Big Ten conference.
Gonzaga will show up to play, as it always does, but the pressure is on for this team to prove itself in the postseason. We all know how great of a team the Bulldogs are during the regular season, but the same type of success just hasn't transferred to March Madness.
Look for Gonzaga to feel the heat of the moment and allow Northwestern to get into the game late in the first half. Carrying that momentum into the second half, the Wildcats will keep things interesting until the closing minutes of the game where they will take the lead and keep it.
Keep dancing, Wildcats. Your dream season isn't over just yet.
Michigan outlasts Louisville

Yes, you read that correctly.
A No. 1 seed and a No. 2 seed will go down in the round of 32. Louisville will join Gonzaga on the plane ride back to campus after a humiliating defeat at the hands of the Michigan Wolverines.
But in reality, this isn't that much of an upset. The Wolverines are a sneaky good basketball side with an ability to light up the scoreboard like few other teams can. Even Louisville head coach Rick Pitino sees the danger coming from Michigan.
Unlike the Gonzaga vs. Northwestern game, this contest will not be that close, despite Michigan being the lower seed. Michigan looked impressive in its win 92-91 win over Oklahoma State, even though it conceded 91 points to its opponent.
But overlooking some clear defensive flaws, the Wolverines have a puncher's chance to make some noise against Louisville and can hang with any team in the country, regardless of seeding.
Not only will Michigan beat Louisville, it will also make a run into the Elite 8. You heard it here first, ladies and gentlemen.
