Arsenal Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Arda Turan and Marcelo Brozovic
New reports have emerged in Spain saying Barcelona midfielder and reported Arsenal target Arda Turan could be sold to fund Lionel Messi's new contract, while Inter Milan's Marcelo Brozovic is reportedly once again available for transfer.
According to AS (h/t Metro's Mark Brus), Barcelona's financial situation means they're likely to offload several players to raise funds for Messi's new deal, with the Argentinian's contract set to expire at the end of next season.

One of the players who could be sold is Turan, who was linked with the Gunners last summer, per the report. The Turkey international has been an odd fit at the Camp Nou from Day 1 and has barely made an impact for the Blaugrana.
Sportswriter Patrick Boyland believes the 30-year-old doesn't have the quality to be an impact player for the Catalan giants:
The Blaugrana have struggled for results when their best XI players haven't started matches, which reflects badly on the likes of Turan. The midfielder was superb for Atletico Madrid, but a lack of game time has taken its toll since he left for rivals Barcelona in 2015.
Arsenal have struggled in midfield themselves, and it stands to reason the Gunners could look to invest in someone like Turan during the summer. He has the experience to make a swift transition and could return to his previous form with consistent playing time.
That's far from a guarantee, however, and the Catalans could hold out for a solid transfer fee if Turan does move.

Someone like Brozovic might be a more likely target, and according to Emanuele Tramacere of Calciomercato.com (via Edo Dalmonte), the Croat is once again available for transfer.
Brozovic was linked with a move to the Premier League for most of last season, and during the summer, he was mentioned as a target for Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool almost daily. Sky Italia (Aaron Flanagan of the Mirror) said Inter were determined to sell him at one point, and the Daily Mail's Matt Barlow even went so far as to suggest Chelsea had all but secured a transfer.

The 24-year-old stayed in the Italian fashion capital, but he hasn't featured much since the arrival of Roberto Gagliardini in January. The 22-year-old former Atalanta man is a budding star and has effectively made his team-mate expendable.
Brozovic was in the middle of a solid season for the Nerazzurri, and he should command a significant transfer fee. Here's a look at some of his highlights:
It's difficult to get too excited about this latest round of rumours involving Brozovic, however. The endless stream of speculation last season amounted to nothing and never made much sense to begin with―Brozovic is a solid player but little more than that.
