La Liga Results 2017: Table, Scores and Reaction After Final Week 27 Match

Rory MarsdenMar 13, 2017

Osasuna ended a dire La Liga run of six defeats on the bounce as they claimed a home draw against Eibar on Monday, but they remain rooted to the bottom of the table.

The visitors went ahead at El Sadar Stadium through Kike after 72 minutes and looked to have condemned Osasuna to yet another loss in their disaster of a season.

However, Kenan Kodro netted an equaliser seven minutes later—his third goal in two matches—and the hosts held out for a point.

Monday Recap

It has not been an easy season for Osasuna in the Spanish top flight after their promotion from Segunda Division last term.

Ahead of Monday's clash, they were 15 points from safety, having registered just one victory all season. That win, though, did come against Monday opponents Eibar back in October.

But there was to be no end to Osasuna's winless streak in the league.

They managed to reach the half-time break level at 0-0 after Salvatore Sirigu saved from both Sergi Enrich and Takashi Inui.

There was no stopping Eibar taking the lead in the second half when Kike slotted into a bottom corner.

Osasuna did manage to scrape a draw when Kodro equalised 11 minutes from time, but their record remains dismal and they are a long way from safety, per Opta:

Indeed, the Guardian's Sid Lowe declared last week that "it's over" for Osasuna in La Liga this season, and failure to win again on Monday only made their relegation more likely. They have not been helped by the fact that some of La Liga's other strugglers also had decent results in Week 27—Sporting Gijon and Leganes both drew on Saturday before Deportivo La Coruna played on Sunday.

Pepe Mel's side incredibly beat Barcelona 2-1 in their fourth unbeaten game on the bounce to climb to 15th.

And, as a result of the Blaugrana's defeat, Real Madrid are now top of the table again after Sergio Ramos' 81st-minute winner against Real Betis at the Santiago Bernabeu later Sunday.
