Brooklyn Nets Honor the Notorious B.I.G. with Banner During Game vs. Knicks

David McCrackenMar 12, 2017

The Brooklyn Nets won't be raising any championship banners this season, but they did celebrate Biggie Night on Sunday evening in remembrance of Brooklyn native Christopher George Latore Wallace aka The Notorious B.I.G., Biggie or Biggie Smalls.

Widely regarded as one of the most influential rappers of his generation, Biggie was killed during a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles on March 8, 1997.

To honor the life of the famous artist 20 years after his death, the Nets raised a banner in his memory at halftime of their game against the New York Knicks. It featured a lyric from Biggie's song "Juicy": "Spread love, it's the Brooklyn way."
