Liverpool Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Kasper Dolberg, Alexandre Lacazette

Juventus will rival Liverpool in the chase for Ajax starlet Kasper Dolberg come the end of the season.

That's according to Calciomercato.com, with the outlet reporting that the Italian champions had scouts run the rule over the 19-year-old on Thursday as his side took on FC Copenhagen in the UEFA Europa League. Dolberg scored a crucial away goal in a 2-1 loss for his team.

In the piece, it's noted that Liverpool are also watching the teenager closely because of his exceptional form this season.

There's plenty to admire about the way the youngster has acquitted himself this season, as he's relished the responsibility of leading the line for a club as big as Ajax. As these numbers from Squawka Football show, Dolberg is having a big impact in the Eredivisie for one so young:

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has spoken about the forward in the past too, telling Danish publication Ekstra Bladet that he thinks the striker is "a fantastic player" with "a very great future" (h/t James Walker-Roberts of Sky Sports).

A big summer looks to be on the cards for Dolberg, especially if he continues to reach the same standards for the remainder of the season. While there is still a lot for him to learn, his hold-up play, power in the air and technical ability will appeal to plenty of elite clubs across Europe.

For a manager like Klopp, the Dane would be an ideal acquisition because he would add something different stylistically and could be moulded into a player attuned to the German's pressing system. However, the Reds look as though they'll face massive competition to secure one of Europe's hottest prospects.

Alexandre Lacazette Linked

According to Andrea Distaso of Calciomercato.com, Liverpool and Juventus may also be rivals in the pursuit of Olympique Lyonnais striker Alexandre Lacazette.

Distaso stated that as well as the aforementioned sides, Arsenal are also in the hunt for the 25-year-old, who is one of European football's most prolific hitmen. According to the report, Lacazette could be available for around €60 million (£52.6 million) in the summer.

While he's been banging in the goals for Lyon this season, all has not been well for Lacazette in Ligue 1. 

As reported by Oliver Todd of MailOnline, he was subject to booing from his own supporters in February for having discussed a possible exit; club president Jean-Michel Aulas said the forward was "psychologically destroyed" by the flak he received. As such, it'd be no surprise if Lacazette were keen on a move at the end of the campaign.

Lacazette has long been tipped for a move away from Lyon, and it feels as though this summer may finally see him depart. Not only has there been friction between him and his team's supporters, but qualification for next season's UEFA Champions League via Ligue 1 looks to be beyond Les Gones, who sit fourth in the French top flight—though they are still alive in the Europa League.

With Daniel Sturridge struggling for form and fitness, Liverpool would love to have a striker of Lacazette's calibre on their books. Any transfer amounting to the noted fee, which would smash the Reds' transfer record, would take a lot of consideration, though.
