Chelsea Transfer News: Latest Rumours on John Terry and Nemanja Matic
Chelsea captain John Terry would reportedly be open to joining a rival Premier League club in the summer when his Blues career will likely come to a close.
According to Matt Hughes in the Times, the veteran centre-back has received "further indications that his playing career at Chelsea is coming to an end," and he would give "serious consideration" to any summer offer from a mid-level Premier League club.
Per Hughes, Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion both approached Terry in the January transfer window—and Bournemouth made a loan attempt—and the Potters could certainly be a potential destination given the 36-year-old has a good relationship with manager Mark Hughes.

Terry looked to have played his last Chelsea game at the end of 2015-16, but he then signed a season-long contract extension in May, per Ed Aarons in the Guardian.
However, after limited playing time in 2016-17, Terry now looks to be in the final stages of his nearly 20-year career as a first-team player at Stamford Bridge, and he is eager to see it end with another Premier League title:
After being installed as the Chelsea manager last summer, Antonio Conte initially started former England captain Terry in the Blues' first four matches of the 2016-17 Premier League season.
He has not started again in the English top flight. Indeed, since Conte switched to a 3-4-3 system with Cesar Azpilicueta, David Luiz and Gary Cahill in his back line, Terry has played only six minutes of Premier League football.
He has started three FA Cup games in 2017 but largely been a spectator on the Chelsea bench.
According to Hughes, it is largely down to this inactivity that Terry wants to continue playing next season, and staying in the Premier League is becoming the most likely option as the defender himself is reluctant to go to the Chinese Super League and Major League Soccer clubs are not coming forward with offers.
Meanwhile, Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic is reportedly on the verge of signing a new contract with the Blues to 2021.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb (h/t The Sun's Anthony Chapman), despite reported interest from Serie A, as well as Manchester United and Barcelona, the 28-year-old Serb has "a fresh contract virtually agreed" with Chelsea.
Matic has returned to his best under Conte in 2016-17 after enduring a very poor campaign last season.
He and N'Golo Kante have formed an indomitable partnership in the centre of the Blues' midfield, and it is little surprise that Chelsea are eager to keep the duo together.
Matic's current contract expires in 2019, but it seems the former Benfica man is ready to commit himself further to the west London club.
