"They are really into each other because they have so much in common — from their Latin roots, to their love of New York and their kids," the source added.

Rodriguez, who retired from Major League Baseball last August, recently accepted a job as a full-time MLB analyst with Fox Sports following trial runs as part of the network's postseason studio coverage in 2015 and 2016.

The 41-year-old has also spent time around the Yankees during spring training in his new role as a special adviser to the Bronx Bombers.

Speaking to reporters in Tampa, Florida, Rodriguez said he'll try to help some of the Yankees' younger players get acclimated to life in the Big Apple since he's familiar with the intense spotlight the city invites.

"There's so much that's expected here in New York, and it's so difficult to play in New York," he said, per the New York Times' Billy Witz. "And I think as staff mentors, that's the best thing we can do, is get them ready for what’s expected, because it is a handful."
