Kenny Britt Reportedly Drawing Interest from 49ers, Eagles Ahead of Free Agency
Wide receiver Kenny Britt turned in a career season in 2016 for the Los Angeles Rams and is reportedly drawing interest from multiple teams as he hits free agency.
On Monday, Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee reported the San Francisco 49ers are expected to be interested in Britt, especially since they have just 58 players under contract and "will be buyers" once free agency starts Thursday.
Tim McManus of ESPN.com previously reported the Philadelphia Eagles are expected to be interested in the Rutgers product as well.

McManus pointed to Britt's relationship with Eagles' receivers coach Mike Groh, who was on the Rams' staff in 2016 when the receiver hauled in 68 catches for 1,002 yards and five touchdowns.
While McManus said Philadelphia is looking for multiple receivers during the offseason, he clarified it would prefer "to be relatively conservative in free agency, spending wisely in the here and now so they're not handcuffed down the line when the team is truly ready to contend."
Considering Britt is just 28 years old and not a marquee name like Alshon Jeffery, he would seemingly fit the bill.
As for San Francisco, the re-signing of Jeremy Kerley, per ESPN's Adam Schefter and Adam Caplan, does not preclude it from adding Britt as well.
New head coach Kyle Shanahan stressed the need for depth at the position, per Barrows, "We're going to add as many as we can to help our roster and we also want to add some competition, because we feel the more competition we have in OTAs, the more competition you have in training camp."
It makes sense the Eagles and 49ers would be interested in bolstering the position considering they finished 24th and dead last in the league in passing yards per game in 2016, respectively.
Britt would also provide help for the two quarterback situations after Colin Kaepernick opted out of his contract, per Joe Fann of the 49ers' official website, and Carson Wentz threw 16 touchdowns and 14 interceptions as a rookie in Philadelphia.
Britt's 1,002 receiving yards in 2016 with Los Angeles marked a career-high even though the Rams finished 31st in the league in passing yards per game, suggesting he can produce without the help of an Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady under center.
As a red-zone threat who can high-point passes, if the 6'3" Britt finishes with similar production in 2017, he will help either the 49ers or Eagles reestablish themselves as contenders in the NFC.
