Dwyane Wade Out vs. Pistons with Thigh Injury

Timothy RappMar 6, 2017

Chicago Bulls guard Dwyane Wade will miss Monday night's game against the Detroit Pistons, according to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune, as the veteran is currently dealing with a thigh issue.

Wade, 35, is averaging 18.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game.

Wade apparently injured himself in Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers, per CBS Chicago. The veteran guard has missed nine other games this year, with five coming for rest and one for illness. This will be his fourth game missed due to injury.

While Wade hasn't been without his flaws this season—his transition defense is often nonexistent—he's been one of the steadier players for the Bulls in a season that has had no shortage of ups and downs. He and Jimmy Butler have also assumed the leadership roles on the team, though that wasn't without its own controversy either.

With Wade out and Rajon Rondo a game-time decision, per Johnson and Nick Friedell of ESPN.com, Jerian Grant, Cameron Payne and Denzel Valentine should all see expanded roles vs. the Pistons.
