Carson Wentz Reportedly Developed Elbow Soreness from Throwing Motion
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz reportedly developed soreness in his throwing elbow over the course of his rookie season.
According to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, sources indicated that the 2016 No. 2 overall draft pick developed the discomfort due to a combination of his throwing motion and the high volume of passes he attempted.
Per McLane, the soreness wasn't significant enough to land Wentz on the injury report, but it did prompt head coach Doug Pederson to call for his young signal-caller to get plenty of rest during the offseason: "Take time off. Get away. Get healthy. Get fresh. Get rejuvenated. And that's what he's done."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Wentz started all 16 games for the Eagles in 2016 and attempted 607 passes, which is second all-time among rookies behind only Andrew Luck of the Indianapolis Colts.
In four seasons at North Dakota State, Wentz never attempted more than 358 passes in a single season, partly due to missing multiple games with injuries.
Wentz got his career off to a strong start, as he went 3-1 with seven touchdowns, one interception and a 103.5 quarterback rating in his first four starts.
Over the next 12 contests, however, Wentz went just 4-8 with nine touchdowns and 13 picks, which equated to a quarterback rating of 72.3.
In an apparent effort to improve his throwing motion, Wentz has begun working out with quarterback mentor Adam Dedeaux in Southern California.
