
2017 NFL Salary Cap Reportedly Set at $167 Million
The NFL salary cap is going up once again, as it will reportedly be set at $167 million in 2017.
NFL.com's Judy Battista was the first to report the news. Tom Pelissero of USA Today confirmed and added that this marks the fourth consecutive year the cap has increased by at least $10 million.
Per NFLPA.com, the 2016 cap was $155.27 million.

According to Aaron Leming of BearReport.com, original projections forecast the cap would hit over $168 million.
Per NFL.com, the NFL's salary cap has increased by $47 million since 2012.
The cap boost will add even more intrigue to a free-agent signing period that will feature some big names even though several top options have been slapped with the franchise tag.
Wide receiver Alshon Jeffery, running back Adrian Peterson and tight end Martellus Bennett are among the biggest prizes teams will vie for.
