Last April, Boeheim said playing for Syracuse would be a "cool experience" but that it wasn't first and foremost on his mind.
"I'm looking to play," he said, per Syracuse.com's Donnie Webb. "We'll see where I can do that."
Jim said in October he was taking a backseat during Jimmy's recruitment, telling Donna Ditota of Syracuse.com his wife handled most of the process: "I'm not involved in it. They call Juli. I talk to a couple of them, but I said just talk to him. Trust me, Jimmy's doing what Jimmy wants to do. My daughter and him do what they want to do. Buddy listens to me."
Jimmy attends New Hampton School, a prep school in New Hampton, New Hampshire, after spending four years at Jamesville-DeWitt High School in Syracuse, New York. He averaged 23.3 points a game as a senior at Jamesville-DeWitt, per Syracuse.com.
His commitment to Cornell will make for an entertaining dynamic when Big Red make their annual trip to the Carrier Dome next year to face off with the Orange on the hardwood.
