BJ Penn, Grandma Dee Thanks You!
Will wonders never cease?
Here I am, one of the most hated critics of BJ Penn, wanting to embrace him sincerely and thank him with great warmth for something he has recently said about another fighter.
No, he did not compliment Georges St-Pierre on anything, at least, nothing that I am aware of at this point in time, although with all the changes Penn has undergone, I would not be at all surprised if he did have a few kind words for Georges..
What did surprise me before and after his last fight with Ken Florian, was how polite he has become. He not only refrained from trash talking before the fight, he was complimentary to Kenny and acted very graciously post fight. BJ Penn appeared to actually act humbly!
Possibly his new behavior, plus the fact that he took this fight seriously enough to actually hire a trainer with a reputation for his ruthlessness in regards to the strength and conditioning training he requires, amazed me. The results of Penn's turnaround was evident in the effective way he fought and the way he won.
He did not gas, looked full of focused determination and made Kenny look like an amateur. What a surprise!
Now he deserves my thanks and gratitude for defending Quinton Rampage Jackson by sticking up for his decision to walk out on the UFC and pursue a career in acting. I say, way to go, BJ! It may not endear you to your temperamental boss with a short fuse and a long memory, Dana White, but Grandma Dee approves and agrees with you 100 percent.
Thank you BJ! If I were in Hawaii and could catch up with you, I would give you a great big granny kiss. That is, if you would allow me to.
