Arsenal Transfer News: Gunners Eye Lorenzo Insigne, Faouzi Ghoulam, Top Rumours
Arsenal sent scouts to watch Napoli duo Lorenzo Insigne and Faouzi Ghoulam as they contemplate their targets ahead of the summer.
Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb (h/t Louis Sealey of Metro) reported the Gunners intended to evaluate 25-year-old Insigne in his team's 2-0 defeat to Atalanta in Serie A on Saturday. Representatives were also planning to take a look at Ghoulam, who started the match at left-back.
Richard Forrester of The Sun wrote Insigne has emerged as manager Arsene Wenger's "top target" as his dynamic performances continue to attract interest from far and wide.

Forrester added: "The attacking midfielder is under contract at the club until 2019, but that won’t deter Gunners boss Arsene Wenger from launching an offer. And according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Arsenal will hope to open talks over a potential deal in the near future."

Liverpool are also reported to be in the hunt for the attacking midfielder, and he will command a price in the region of £44 million, per Forrester.
Wenger will also monitor defender Ghoulam, who is in dispute with the Naples club over a contract, per Sealey.
The 26-year-old left-back has been a regular for his side, appearing 27 times in Serie A and the UEFA Champions League, providing a credible total of seven assists, according to WhoScored.com.
Here is the player in action:
Ghoulam is now considered one of the most exciting wing-backs in world football, and Wenger would surely face a queue of admirers for his services if he came onto the open market.
If the Arsenal boss captured the Algerian, he would possess two of the planet's most productive wide players with Spain international Hector Bellerin on the opposite flank.

However, the signing of Insigne would be a major coup for the north Londoners, adding a classy burgeoning talent to their ranks.
The diminutive midfielder is the perfect age to move to the Premier League, and he fits Wenger's philosophy of attacking football.
Insigne would dovetail with Alexis Sanchez, and also offer a capable alternative to the Chile superstar when he is injured or unavailable—an issue Wenger has had to deal with in recent campaigns.
