Watch 19-Year-Old's Electrifying TKO Sequence in Just His Second Pro MMA Fight
Paul Hughes (2-0) stepped into the cage for his second-ever professional MMA bout Friday, and his performance has the MMA world buzzing.
Hughes, making his organizational debut for BAMMA, torched Adam Gustab in just 1:32 of the first round. It was Gustab's first loss (2-1).
A jumping knee, left hand combination started the flurry. Hughes saw Gustab was hurt and never relented with a ferocious cavalcade of strikes from every angle. Overhands, uppercuts, knees, oh my!
The referee was forced to step in after two right hands landed flush. Gustab crumpled to the canvas.
In a post-fight interview with Fight Store Media, Hughes said the big crowd and pressure suit him as a fighter. If this performance is any indication, they most certainly suit the kid.
Hughes' performance continues to spotlight the growth of MMA. A teenager did that to a human being. With more youngsters taking up the sport, expect to see more sensational showings from young tykes in the years ahead.
