
Former Jets DL Scott Mersereau Arrested After Allegedly Punching Teenager
Former New York Jets player Scott Mersereau lost his cool Friday after someone apparently egged his house.
According to Adam Sacasa of the Sun Sentinel, Mersereau accused a 15-year-old of throwing eggs at his house. The argument escalated to screaming, with the former NFL player threatening to kill the child before punching him three times in the head.
The 51-year-old was arrested Saturday and charged with child abuse.

The teenager's mother intervened when she saw her son being punched, eventually calling the police after several others witnessed the incident and tried to help. The officers on the scene described Mersereau as "belligerent and intoxicated."
The defensive lineman spent seven years in the NFL, all with the Jets, after being drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in 1987. He tallied 19 sacks in his career from 1987-93.
He reportedly works as a financial adviser.
