Derrick Rose Abandons Ship, Avoids LeBron James' Monster Dunk
Pro athletes often have to look out for themselves, and that is exactly what New York Knicks guard Derrick Rose did during the first quarter of Thursday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers at Quicken Loans Arena.
With roughly 3:25 to play in the opening period, three-time NBA champion LeBron James sped toward the paint with enough momentum to run over anybody in front of him.
Rose had an opportunity to square up and protect the bucket, but he instead chose to fight another day and gift James with a ferocious tomahawk slam by veering away at the foul line. New York's Carmelo Anthony didn't fare much better, offering minimal resistance.
Laugh at them all you want, but you probably wouldn't want any of James in a similar scenario.
Later that same half, Kristaps Porzingis also elected to avoid defending James inside the paint.
