The Rock Tweets About Calling CM Punk After WWE Raw
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson called CM Punk from the middle of the ring following Monday's WWE Raw at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and he commented on the off-the-cuff moment Wednesday.
With the live crowd engaging in "CM Punk" chants, The Rock called him up and later revealed that it was an unplanned moment:
NoDQ.com provided video of The Rock making the call, which resulted in him leaving a message on Punk's voicemail:
Punk later tweeted in reference to the support he received from the L.A. crowd:
The Rock was at Raw due to the fact that his Seven Bucks Productions company is teaming with WWE Studios to produce a movie about WWE Superstar Paige entitled Fighting with My Family, per WWE.com.
On Monday, filming occurred for the scene that saw Paige make her WWE main roster debut and defeat AJ Lee for the Divas Championship in her first match, according to Marc Middleton of WrestlingInc.com.
The real-life version took place in 2014 the night after WrestleMania 30.
AJ left the company shortly thereafter to join her husband, CM Punk, who last competed at the 2014 Royal Rumble.
Punk is currently part of UFC, but it is unclear if or when he will have another fight after losing to Mickey Gall in just over two minutes at UFC 203.
