Sacramento Kings Reddit Becomes 'Lion King' Page After DeMarcus Cousins Trade
The Sacramento Kings stunned NBA observers by trading star center DeMarcus Cousins to the New Orleans Pelicans shortly after Sunday's All-Star Game. If the team's Reddit page (warning: page contains profanity) is any indication, fans have reached their tipping point.
For All Things Kings has shifted focus to The Lion King. The transformation occurred after a post proposing the change received a swarm of support.
The subreddit now features a main photo from the Disney film. Scar, Zazu, Simba and Mufasa permeate the listed roster. One of the most popular recent posts is titled "Don't let Boogie getting traded to the Pelicans distract you from the fact that Scar blew a 1,000-hyena lead to a pride of lions."
For a franchise that hasn't made the playoffs since 2006, disappointment is all part of the circle of life. Rather than grieve over Cousins' departure, these fans instead said "hakuna matata" and devoted their attention to a more pleasant subject.
