Watch Bellator's Patricky Pitbull Flatten Josh Thomson with Devastating Uppercut

We already knew that Patricky Pitbull was a deadly fighter. Despite being inconsistent throughout his career, the Bellator veteran has kept himself relevant near the top of the lightweight division on his brutal power alone.

That power was on display on Saturday night, as the elder Pitbull brother scored a second-round knockout over 16-year MMA veteran Josh Thomson. Check it out above.

While the win carries something of an asterisk because of the clash of heads that marked the beginning of the end for Thomson, this is a great feather in Freire's cap. Thomson, who once held Strikeforce gold, is a steely veteran who hadn't lost a fight inside the distance since 2004.

This win shoots Pitbull right back into contention at 155 pounds, and frankly, there isn't a lightweight out there who can survive a punch like that.
