UFC Vet Dennis Hallman Saves His Fighter from Violent Guillotine Choke

A scary scene occurred early Friday morning in India at the latest Super Fight League event.

In a flyweight contest between Asha Roka and Hannah Kampf, Roka quickly grabbed a guillotine and got into a mount. It was deep, and it was tight. Kampf was out soon.

Unfortunately, the referee did not notice, and Kampf was stuck, unconscious, in a choke.

It's a good thing Kampf's corner included noted grappler and former UFC fighter Dennis Hallman. When he noticed his fighter was out and the referee wasn't stopping the bout, Hallman jumped in and broke up the submission.

Indian MMA is regulated by the All India Mixed Martial Arts Association (AIMMAA). The incident highlights the need for the AIMMAA to improve its regulatory practices. As Jared Jones of Champions MMA noted, SFL is not known to be the most forthright organization.

Kampf was lucky Hallman was on site. The result could have been much more dire.
