The No. 41 Target Chevrolet driven by Juan Pablo Montoya was on top of the charts Friday, after the Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing driver turned the fastest lap in the opening Sprint Cup Series practice on Friday.

Montoya turned a lap of 39.225-seconds, averaging 183.556 mph, on his 1th (out of 11) lap in the session.  The Columbian-driver was more then a mile per hour slower then Jimmie Johnson, who clocked in with a 182.482 mph lap.

Hendrick Motorsports driver Johnson, driving the No. 48 Lowe's/Jimmie Johnson Foundation Chevrolet this weekend, was second fastest with a lap time of 39.456-seconds.  Mark Martin, David Regan and David Stremme rounded out the top-five fastest times in the session.

The only incident in the practice session was a blown engine by Kyle Busch, driver of the No. 18 M&Ms Toyota, late in the session. Under NASCAR rules, he will have to start Sunday's race from the rear of the field after changing his engine.  Busch ran a total of 19 laps in the session, with his 17th lap of 40.211-seconds being his best.
