Rapper Jay-Z to Meet With Penn State Football Players

State College is very excited to welcome New York's finest rapper, Jay-Z, to the Bryce Jordan Center on Friday, October 09, 2009.

With the Lion's game against Eastern Illinois the following day, the team is prohibited to go to the concert. Joe Paterno and coaches want the team to be focused enough to strike up another win Saturday afternoon.

Paterno says that any distraction will work against us during the game. He obviously can't have the team out partying the night before a game.

Since the team has a curfew and rules saying that they could not go to this amazing concert, Jay-Z will be making an appearance where the team is staying for a "meet and greet" type affair.

Most would say that the Nittany Lion players actually hit big with this deal. Many would do almost anything to meet this rap legend. 

The rapper was also seen around campus, the Bryce Jordan Center, and Beaver Stadium Thursday night. 

Since Eastern Illinois isn't a big competitor, the concert is all that the majority of Penn State students are talking about. 

Rumors of Jay-Z attending Saturday's game are floating around campus. Students say that if true, that would be the "greatest thing that's ever happened to Penn State football".

"It's one thing to be good enough in college football that you keep a good playing record and you have loyal, dedicated fans, but it's a whole other thing when a celebrity actually considers seeing one of the games...especially when that celebrity is Jay-Z", says Calvin G. "That's when you know you're something special".

"What if he performed at half-time?! Now that would be awesome", Justin L. proclaims excitedly. 

Hopefully Jay-Z's appearance with the team will cause them to focus more and get amped up for the game Saturday, rather than distract them from it.

We can only hope that the rapper will grace us with his presence this Saturday to cheer on the Lions. It's a slim to none chance, but let's keep our fingers crossed!
