4-Star CB Jairus Brents Commits to Louisville over WVU and More
The Louisville Cardinals added an electric player to their 2018 class in the form of 4-star cornerback Jairus Brents.
Mark Ennis of 93.9 The Ville provided news of the player's commitment which came after being recruited by a number of other major programs, including West Virginia, Wisconsin, Pitt and Cincinnati.
Brents is listed as the No. 24 cornerback in the class and No. 230 player overall in 247Sports' composite rankings and possesses as much upside as almost anyone in the country.

Report: Biggest Spenders in Men's CBB 🤑
The first thing you notice about the Louisville native is his speed. The track star has reportedly posted a 40-yard dash time of 4.33 seconds, per Allen Trieu of Scout.com, and it shows whenever he is on the field.
He is extremely dangerous with the ball in his hands, whether that is on offense, special teams or after a turnover, and he is always a threat to turn any play into a touchdown for his team.
While his big-play ability steals the show in highlight reels, Brents has also shown he can be an elite cornerback.
"His stats sometimes don’t show it, but he basically just shut down one side of the field for us," Waggener coach Jordan Johnson said, per Jason Frakes of the Courier-Journal. "He didn’t have a pass completed on him all year. He just kind of dictates the way the game goes defensively."
The biggest question mark is his size at 5'10" and 178 pounds, but the rest of his skill set should make up for it.
Brents will hope he can now make an early impact on the field after joining his hometown school.
Louisville has put together strong seasons in recent years but could still use help on the defensive side of the ball. The young cornerback can be an instant help in this area, especially in nickel and dime packages.
His skill as a returner could also allow him to get on the field as a true freshman.
