Dwyane Wade Suffers Elbow Injury vs. Grizzlies

Joseph ZuckerMar 15, 2017

Chicago Bulls guard Dwyane Wade suffered a sprained right elbow in Wednesday night's 98-91 defeat to the Memphis Grizzlies, the Chicago Tribune's K.C. Johnson reported.

After the game, Wade told reporters he heard his elbow pop when he was reaching for a rebound in the third quarter, according to CSN Chicago's Vincent Goodwill. Wade will have an MRI Thursday to determine the extent of the damage.

Early in his career, Wade excelled at driving to the basket and either finishing or getting himself on the foul line.

All of the mileage he put on his body in his 20s is catching up to him in his 30s. Between the 2011-12 and 2015-16 seasons, Wade missed 102 combined games.

He missed time already this year after injuring his wrists in the Bulls' 115-97 defeat to the Phoenix Suns on Feb. 10, adding to what has been a disappointing return to the Windy City for the 35-year-old.

Chicago is only a game out of the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference, but simply making the playoffs won't be considered a success after the moves the Bulls made in the offseason.

Depending on the severity of Wade's elbow injury, the postseason may slip more and more out of the team's grasp.
