Announcer After Buzzer-Beater: 'I Counted My Chickens Before They Hatched!'

The old cliche says "it's never over 'til it's over," and one Peach Belt Conference announcer found that out Monday night.      

With under two seconds left in regulation, the Young Harris Mountain Lions trailed the Montevallo Falcons 71-68 at YHC Basketball Arena when Young Harris guard C.J. Wilson retrieved a missed Montevallo free throw.

Wilson took a single dribble and unleashed a shot from beyond half court that tied the contest before the clock expired. 

The buzzer-beater itself is amazing, but the announcer's comments help make it even better. 

"Yes! Yes! Yes! Oh my goodness! Yes! Yes! Yes!" he said. "Forgive me, Lord! I counted my chickens before they hatched!"  

The story had an unhappy ending for the hosts, however, as Young Harris lost to Montevallo in overtime 89-83.
