Tommy Dreamer Says He Almost Lost His Eye from Accidental Dog Scratch

Hardcore wrestling legend Tommy Dreamer revealed in an Instagram post Wednesday that he nearly lost his eye when his dog accidentally scratched him.

Dreamer shared the following photo and explanation after the incident:

The 45-year-old Yonkers, New York, native is best known for his tenure in ECW where he became the face of the extreme style of wrestling.

He went on to compete in WWE as well, winning the Hardcore Championship and ECW Championship while wrestling for the company on and off from 2001 through 2010. 

Dreamer owns popular independent wrestling company House of Hardcore and still makes sporadic appearances for WWE, as he teamed with the Dudley Boyz and Rhyno to face the Wyatt Family in 2015.

While Dreamer wrestles occasionally in his own HOH promotion, he has largely switched to an administrative role, which is something he got a taste of at various times throughout his career in ECW, WWE and TNA.
