Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield Responds to OSU Commit Staking Claim to Big 12 Title
Oklahoma State commit Fua Leilua boldly prophesied a 2017 Big 12 title for his new school on Sunday. Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield presented a counterargument on Monday.
The Sooners quarterback replied to a Twitter post predicting conference supremacy with a picture of his shirt, which informed the defensive tackle of Oklahoma's back-to-back Big 12 wins. He also offered a snarky "Good luck with that."
Oklahoma State wide receiver Tyron Johnson came to his new teammate's defense:
Mayfield essentially repackaged his previous reponse:
Those past titles are nice, but they have no bearing on who will win the 2017 crown. The Cowboys were also no slouches during those seasons, finishing each year at 10-3.
Let's see if Twitter bickering adds fuel to an already intense Big 12 rivalry.
