There was a whole bunch of combat sports action going down on Saturday night.

The UFC put on a solid show in UFC on Fox 23, which saw Valentina Shevchenko cement her place as the top contender at 135 pounds with an armbar win over Julianna Pena. NXT got a new champion as Bobby Roode took the title off Shinsuke Nakamura. Boxing fans got a strong card on Showtime with Carl Frampton facing Leo Santa Cruz, and Mikey Garcia taking the WBO title off Dejan Zlaticanin.

The folks who tuned in to FloCombat.com to watch Next Level Fight Club 6, though, were witness to a terrifying slam knockout. Check it out above.

In the waning seconds of the first round of a heavyweight fight between Allen Crowder and Chase Gamble, Crowder grabbed hold of a single-leg takedown and looked to turn it into a slam. But rather putting some rotation on it, a la Daniel Cormier, Crowder instead whipped Gamble down, visibly snapping his head into the mat. Gamble was out cold in an instant, and the ref quickly stepped in to halt the action.

It was a big statement from Crowder, who was coming off back-to-back losses and a yearlong layoff, that he is a man to watch in the heavyweight division.
