Georgia Tech Upsets Notre Dame with Last-Second Layup from Josh Okogie
The college basketball upsets keep on coming. Yet another ranked school fell when No. 14 Notre Dame suffered a 62-60 defeat to Georgia Tech at Atlanta's McCamish Pavilion on Saturday.
For several minutes, the teams were in a 60-60 stalemate, but the Fighting Irish had a final chance to fend off the unexpected outcome. With six seconds remaining, though, Matt Farrell missed a jumper, and the Yellow Jackets accelerated into high gear.
Tadric Jackson—who scored 25 points off the bench—snagged the defensive rebound, rushed up the court and fired a long pass to Josh Okogie. The freshman sprinted past Notre Dame's Temple Gibbs to convert a layup as time expired.
