C.J. McCollum Tells Chandler Parsons, 'We Hit the Lottery by Not Signing You'
C.J. McCollum and Chandler Parsons kept clashing following the Portland Trail Blazers' 112-109 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night.
The social media scrum started when the Trail Blazers' Twitter page mocked a Parsons air ball:
Although Friday's win put the 21-27 Blazers 0.5 games back of the Western Conference's No. 8 seed, the Grizzlies forward still ridiculed their struggles:
McCollum rushed to his team's defense. The guard claimed his team already won the lottery by avoiding Parsons, who is having the worst season of his career after signing a four-year contract worth over $94 million.
Parsons countered by pointing out that earning a massive amount of money sounds a lot like hitting the jackpot:
The 28-year-old, who is earning approximately $22 million this season, is averaging 6.7 points and 1.9 rebounds with a 36.5 field-goal percentage through 20 games. So far, it's safe to say the Blazers and 28 other NBA teams dodged a bullet by not awarding Parsons a massive contract last summer.
