SEC Power Rankings: Week Six
Not a single team moved in this week’s SEC Power Rankings.
Not surprising, since there were no upsets last week. Almost had one in Athens, but that’s what you get for getting excited after making a huge, clutch play.
Let’s run ’em down.
Team (Pvs): Comment
1. Florida (1)
Good news for LSU this week: Tim Tebow is still suffering the aftereffects of a concussion suffered two games ago. Bad news for LSU: Tebow once threw for 300 yards and five touchdowns in a high school game despite being decapitated in the first quarter.
2. Alabama (2)
Greg McElroy, Heisman dark horse? Hey, why not?
3. LSU (3)
I’m still trying to figure out how the Tigers are 4-0. Will be a moot point after this week, though. See: Tebow.
4. Georgia (4)
Even the most intense fan in the country couldn’t help the Bulldogs beat LSU last week. “It pops like Rennie Curran on a tackle!” (OK, so it’s from the South Carolina game, but I’m pretty sure he was there for LSU, too.)
5. South Carolina (5)
Is The Visor back? I can actually see the Gamecocks finishing 9-3 and getting a really good bowl game.
6. Auburn (6)
One more win and the Tigers will be bowl eligible. I believe the perception of Gus Malzahn has changed from this to this.
7. Ole Miss (7)
Rebels could get back on BCS track by beating Alabama this week. Yeah, and this could happen, too.
8. Arkansas (8)
Malzahn gets to go up against his former team this week. Yes, we should definitely expect fireworks.
9. Mississippi State (9)
Just a suggestion: Invest in this stuff. Lots of it.
10. Vanderbilt (10)
Smart people bore me. And sometimes they make crappy computers.
11. Kentucky (11)
MSU visits Lexington on Halloween. Crazy things happen at Commonwealth Stadium.
12. Tennessee (12)
I suppose I could’ve given the Vols a bump after playing Auburn close. But this guy is still the coach.
