Deshaun Watson Promised to 'Go HAM' in a National Championship Game in 2012
Deshaun Watson ended his collegiate career in grand fashion Monday, accumulating 420 passing yards and four touchdowns (three passing, one rushing), the last of which secured the Clemson Tigers' 35-31 victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide.
This marks the second straight year the quarterback destroyed Nick Saban's powerhouse defense in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game. Although Alabama won last year's title, Watson accounted for 478 total yards and four touchdowns in the 45-40 loss.
Who could have seen this coming? Apparently Watson.
On Feb. 4, 2012, when he was a junior at Gainesville High School in Georgia, he called his shot by promising a strong effort if he ever received an opportunity to play for the national championship.
Per ESPN College Football, he again dreamed of the grand stage the following year:
Let's see if he tests his prophetic prowess by predicting a Super Bowl title.
