"Protect yourselves at all times" is the old adage in combat sports, but even still, there are unwritten rules inside the cage.

One of those rules is not to cheap-shot your opponent off a glove touch. Someone may want to inform Ibragim Khalilov of said unwritten rule.

Khalilov met Bakhtiyar Barotov in China at WBK 22 on Saturday. Off the standard touch of gloves to start the first round, Khalilov blasted Barotov with a one-hitter quitter.

It was a dirty move, but it proved effective. He got his hand raised.

Perhaps missed in the astonishment of the dirty move is that this will go down as one of the quickest knockouts in MMA history.

Just a bit of advice to Khalilov's next opponent: skip the touch of gloves. Better safe than sorry. Ask Barotov...when he awakens.
