College Football Week 6.

Jeff WOct 8, 2009

Quick look at the AP/Coaches Poll Top 5 Teams in the Nation:
1. Florida- still on top trying to defend their championship from last year. Will Tebow play this week?
2. Texas- kind of “under the radar”. All the talk is about the SEC and Colt McCoy’s “subpar” play. They are dangerous.
3. Alabama- Many think they are the best team in the nation. Tough test this week.
4. LSU- Not overrated, but not a top 5 team. Will still lose 2 games this year.
5. Virginia Tech- Only loss is to top 5 Bama. Should have lost to Nebraska.

Here is a look at the top games that I would attend if I was able:

Nebraska @ Missouri- This is a BIG battle for the Big 12 North. The winner will have an early advantage with a lot of momentum going into the long stretch of conference play. Nebraska should be undefeated but lost a heart breaker to Va Tech. Missouri is undefeated, but has not really played stellar competition. Look for this one to be a shootout.
My Pick: Nebraska 33 Missouri 29

Alabama @ Ole Miss- Tricky game for the #3 Crimson Tide. Ole Miss has the talent at the skill positions to give Bama trouble. If Jevan Snead can keep from turning the ball over against the punishing Bama defense, look for Ole Miss to hang tough. The key will be if the Rebels can stop the Alabama running game. This should be a close one, don’t count on a blowout.
My Pick: Alabama 24 Ole Miss 20

Wisconsin @ Ohio State- Did you know the Badgers are undefeated? Me neither, of course their competition has been a little suspect, the Badgers have a chance to open up some eyes. For the past few seasons, the Buckeyes have been the class of the Big 10, so a win against them would be HUGE for the Badgers. Look for a low scoring close game.
My Pick: Ohio State 23 Wisconsin 18

Florida @ LSU- “The Big One”. At least that should be the title for this showdown this week. This top 5 matchup is sure to be a fast, hard hitting affair between two of the most successful teams in the past decade of college football. Tim Tebow is a game time decision after suffering a nasty concussion against Kentucky, while LSU sports a athletic defense and a LOUD home crowd. If LSU can establish a run game and keep the Gators from making big plays downfield, look for an exciting finish.
My Pick: LSU 31 Florida 30

Upset Pick of the Week: Iowa St 28 Kansas 24- The Cyclones are a pretty bad team, but due for a big win.

No One Cares Game: Buffalo 51 Gardner Webb 13- Blowout.
