Cris Cyborg Drills Techniques in Hijab to 'Unite Women of All Religions'

Cris "Cyborg" Justino is best known for her career as a mixed martial artist, but when she's not in the cage, she does a lot to try to empower young women around the world through fitness.

In that spirit, Cyborg released a video today on Facebook featuring her demonstrating striking combinations while wearing a hijab.

One of the reasons I started my Pink Belt Fitness By Cris Cyborg program was because I saw a need to unite women of all religions, ages, and cultures. ... I am a believer in Jesus Christ and a devout Christian, I am wearing the Hijab, a symbol of modesty and protection used by many women around the world, not as a sign of religion but as a symbol of support for all women around the world. The Hijab is not Anti American, or terroristic, sadly those are misconceptions from those who are lacking cultural understanding.

Combat Sports should be an opportunity shared by all!

While the timing is somewhat unfortunate due to Cyborg's recent run-in with the United States Anti-Doping Agency over an out-of-competition drug test, this is still a noble cause and a positive message from the Invicta FC featherweight champion.
