Pittsburgh Penguins Spread Holiday Cheer by Recreating 'Elf'
Andrew GouldDec 17, 2016
In first place in the Eastern Conference, the Pittsburgh Penguins are feeling festive during the holidays. They shared their high spirits by spoofing Elf in an awkward remake.
Several players stand in for Will Ferrell as Buddy, the not-so-small elf who travels to New York to meet his real father. Evgeni Malkin makes the realization he is not a true elf, and Sidney Crosby delivers the "son of a nutcracker" line.
Patric Hornqvist sounds more like Liam Neeson than Ferrell when telling the mall Santa Claus he "sits on a throne of lies."

As Buddy declares in the classic movie, "the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear." Still, maybe the Penguins should have just made a card.
