Liverpool Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Geoffrey Kondogbia and Amine Harit

Liverpool and Chelsea are reportedly the only two teams willing to match Inter Milan's valuation of midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia.

That's according to Tuttosport (h/t Lucas Sposito of Sport Witness), where it is stated the Serie A side are willing to cash in on the struggling midfielder if they were to receive an offer in the region of €20 million (£16.7 million). It's a fee that will reportedly put off Marseille, although the Reds and the Blues are said to still be keen.

In the report, it's not suggested which of the two Premier League giants would be in the lead for the player as things stand, although—as noted by Sposito—according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter want Kondogbia out the door.

The 23-year-old arrived at Inter from Monaco for big money in the summer of 2015 and has failed to show his best form consistently. Here is what he can offer:

When Kondogbia is at full throttle, he can be a wrecking ball in the middle of the park. The France international has a tremendous blend of attributes, including strength, dynamism and composure in possession. However, far too frequently, his standards have slipped for the Nerazzurri, much to the annoyance of those tied to the club.

As noted here by the Ball Street Twitter feed, previous manager Frank de Boer took drastic action during a game earlier this season when the midfielder wasn't performing:

If Kondogbia were to end up working under Reds boss Jurgen Klopp or Chelsea chief Antonio Conte, he'd have to pull his weight. And perhaps an energetic coach who demands total application would be able to help draw the best out of the combative midfielder.

Liverpool's midfield has worked well this term, with Georginio Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson and particularly Adam Lallana working exceptionally as a triumvirate. Kondogbia would be a different kind of option and would add physicality, but at the moment, he'd be far from guaranteed a starting spot if he were to move to Anfield.

According to But (h/t TalkSport), Liverpool have joined a clutch of elite European clubs chasing Nantes tyro Amine Harit.

The piece noted that as well as the Reds, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and AC Milan are all keeping a close eye on the youngster. However, it added that Reds boss Klopp is a big fan of the 19-year-old and could make a move for the versatile midfielder in January.

Although he's still got a lot to learn at senior level, there's an ease with which the youngster moves the ball that would appeal to plenty of clubs sniffing around. Harit's bravery in tight spaces on the pitch and turn of speed with the ball at his feet have stood out in particular in 2016-17.

This season is the first one in which the youngster has burst on to the scene and made a serious impression in the Nantes side. With that in mind, the natural instinct is to suggest speculation should be ignored and Harit should concentrate on playing and improving at the Stade de la Beaujoire.

However, the aforementioned clubs carry a special allure, including Liverpool. And for any youngster looking to add facets to their game, the chance to work with Klopp is not something that should be shunned lightly.
