Liverpool Transfer News: Frank Acheampong Watched, Latest Reds Rumours
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has reportedly been eyeing RSC Anderlecht winger Frank Acheampong as he plans to add further strength to his squad.
According to Steve Goodman in the Sun, Klopp has had the Ghana international watched on several occasions, while Sunderland and Newcastle United have also shown interest in the pacy 23-year-old.
Goodman added that the £6 million-rated Acheampong can play as both a left-winger and a left-back, likely attractive versatility for Klopp and Liverpool given the Reds' issues on the left of defence.

James Milner has been almost an ever-present for Liverpool at left-back in 2016-17, but it is not his natural position, and Alberto Moreno remains a defensive liability.
Joe Gomez is returning from injury and can be utilised as a full-back, but the 19-year-old remains inexperienced, so Acheampong could be a useful player to have in the squad.
He is expected to be part of Ghana's squad for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, so he would not be immediately available for Liverpool should they move for him in January.
However, he could prove vital in the second half of the season if he can make the move successfully from Belgium to the Premier League. See some of his highlights below:
For his club this term, Acheampong has played in 16 of their 18 Belgian league games, and he provided two assists in six group appearances as Anderlecht advanced to the first knockout round of the UEFA Europa League, per WhoScored.com.
He joined the Belgian giants from Thai side Buriram United in 2013 for £700,000 and won the domestic title with Anderlecht in his first season at the club.
Currently under contract until 2019, Anderlecht would likely be loath to let Acheampong go as he has become a key part of the squad.
However, given Liverpool's relative superiority to the Belgian club in both financial and status terms, the Reds could pull off a successful move to sign the Ghanaian winger.
There will certainly be questions about whether he can adapt to the Premier League and Klopp's particular style of play.
But, given that he should be relatively cheap, Acheampong could be a useful purchase for second-placed Liverpool as they look to mount a Premier League title challenge to the end of the season.
