Jameis Winston Reaches Settlement with Rape Accuser in Civil Lawsuit
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston reached a settlement in a civil lawsuit involving rape allegations filed against him by Erica Kinsman, TMZ Sports reported Wednesday.
According to TMZ Sports, "Kinsman sued the Buccaneers QB in April 2015 for sexual battery, assault and false imprisonment even though he was never criminally charged."
The details of the settlement weren't immediately available.

TMZ Sports noted Kinsman was awarded $950,000 from Florida State University in a separate suit regarding the handling of the allegations against the former Seminoles quarterback.
Brendan Sonnone of the Orlando Sentinel reported in July 2015 Kinsman sued the school based on allegations it didn't follow Title IX. Rachel Axon of USA Today noted the $950,000 represented the largest settlement for Title IX allegations "regarding indifference to a student's reported sexual assault."
Winston's settlement came after he countersued Kinsman in May 2015, per Sonnone.
Sonnone wrote at the time an estimated jury date was April 3, 2017, and the two parties didn't think a settlement was likely for the case surrounding his alleged sexual assault in 2012, when the quarterback and Kinsman were both students at Florida State.
In addition to the state attorney's office not criminally charging Winston in 2013, Florida State's code-of-conduct hearing also found no wrongdoing from the quarterback, per Sonnone.
